Pasta People

Use different-shaped pasta pieces to sculpt funny "pasta people." Then, glue your people to a shoebox lid to make a scene or glue a pin on the back to make jewelry. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination!

Supplies

  • Different shapes and sizes of pasta, such as tubes, bowties, shells, etc.
  • Sequins, glitter, yarn, buttons, and other decorative items
  • Large wooden or plastic beads or small Styrofoam balls (for heads)
  • Pipe cleaners or drinking straws
  • Watercolor paints or spray paint (optional)
  • Glue or paste
  • Shoebox lid (optional)

Directions

  1. Assemble all of your supplies. The list above is just a guide. Use your own imagination and creativity, and make it appropriate for your child's age.
  2. Start gluing different pieces of pasta together to make a person. For example, you can make a pasta angel by gluing a medium-size piece of tube-shaped pasta to a piece of bowtie pasta (for the wings). Add a head made from a bead or Styrofoam® ball.
  3. Glue on eyes, hair, and accessories as desired.
  4. Glue several pasta people to a shoebox lid to make a scene or leave them loose and perform a play.
