Take ordinary brown lunch bags, other odds and ends around the house, and your imagination to make creative and fun hand puppets.
Supplies
- Brown paper lunch bags
- Construction paper, poster board, cardstock, and/or craft foam
- Sequins, glitter, yarn, buttons, and other decorative items
- Watercolor paints (optional)
- Glue or paste
- Scissors
Directions
- Assemble all of your supplies. The list above is just a guide. Use your own imagination and creativity, and make it appropriate for your child’s age.
- Glue or paint a face onto the bottom outside surface of the bag, so that the mouth is near the fold that would face down when you hold the bag upside down.
- Add hair, a hat, a bowtie, buttons, etc. to make your puppet a unique character. Have fun with this!
- When everything is dry, place your hand inside the bag with your 4 fingers (but not your thumb) in the bottom section of the bag. Grab the fold between your fingers and your thumb and make your puppet talk.
